WATC opens new facility at Comotara Center:

President Pete Gustaf and members of the Wichita Area Technical College Board and WATC Foundation Board celebrated the opening of WATC's newest location Aug. 7 with a ribbon-cutting. Many faculty and staff attended the ceremony at the Comotara Center, 3639 N. Comotara, and then visited with area employers at a Career Opportunity Fair and open house that followed. The newly remodeled Comotara Center is home to the Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy and Air Conditioning Technology programs and provides classroom space for several general education classes.

Online Learning Partners with MEDS Publishing

Evening Practical Nurse students are now taking part in a great homework assistance software trial. WATC Online Learning has partnered with MEDS Publishing to provide its Total Nursing Curriculum Support software to these students the first week of February. The modules, which are provided with the software, give a variety of assistance to learners and are designed to follow students from their first course in a nursing program until they pass their Kansas State Board of Nursing exams.

Online Learning is able to pilot this software package with the evening Practical Nurse students through grant money. If the pilot proves successful, the program will be expanded to include all Practical Nurse students. We hope this software will help students achieve their educational goals and open the doors to success.
